14 year old dog has trouble urinating. Looking for natural solution
Hi! My 14 yr old dog is having trouble urinating. The Vet put her on Amoxi 250mg caps - 1 capsule orally every 12 hours with food. Is there anything that I could give her naturally. The Vet has suggested surgery but at this age, I would rather find a natural solution if possible. Thanks for your help!

Does my dog have to have rabies vaccinations?
My dog is requiring a rabies shot to get his license renewed. Is there any way to get around this requirement? I am opposed to vaccinations and if there is a way to have him licensed without giving him the shot, I'd like to know.
Thanks

Holistic food allergy help for my dog
My Westhighland Terrier, 6 in September, has since day one food allergies that include proteins, wheat, flour, pretty much everything. She has had major intestinal upsets for the last 2 weeks but they were under control in combination w/a homemade diet consisting of vitamin supplements, cottage cheese, pumpkin, and brown rice along w/ veterinarian prescribed drugs being Clidinium/CDP 1 every other day or as needed, Lixotonic 1/2 ml orally once daily and Farnotidine that only had to be used once every week and 1/2 have now everyday . It is the only way she will eat because otherwise she is in severe pain. I can hear her stomach and feel it hard and bloated as well. My vet has run out of answers and obviously was able to give only a temporary fix to this long-time problem. My dog, when not plagued with this pain is happy and otherwise healthy. I need another alternative to safe guard and assure my dog a happy and pain free existence if at all possible. Do you have any suggestions. I would appreciate more than words could say!!
Thank You

home cooked cat food problems
I have switched my cats over to a homemade diet. The kitten with no problem. The older cat, though, has been on commercial food for far too long and is having problems, which I am to understand is a matter of detox.
However, she is pretty much not eating at all, not even her commercial food and ESPECIALLY if I mix anything. When she does eat she throws it right back up. What is the best way or thing I can do to help her through this?
Would I need to take her to a holistic vet or is there something I can do for her here? She's VERY temperamental and is next to impossible to handle at the vet's. I am not sure her current vet would embrace a non-commercial diet.

Polycystic kidney disease in a cat
My cat has polycystic kidney disease. She has started epogen as her
hemocrit was down to 22.
Her bun and creatine is 76 and 4.5. I give her subQ 100ml daily. I feed her
small bits of clean protein (cooked chicken, chicken livers etc, and a/d to
try to get her to eat. She is on Norvasc. She has also started pepcid. Her
stools are hard and pea-like.
I have read about various supplements to get her creatine and bun levels
down such as :
lactulose for CRF cats and Azodyl. I am trying to get her bun and creatine
numbers down. I can tell she feels bad and her appetite is much less. I feed
her throughout the day but she only eats a little bit each time.

Cat with diarrhea. Can you help???
Question: I have an 8 year old cat that has diarrhea and is now starting to vomit. I've been battling the diarrhea for months with antibiotics. It seems to get better for awhile but keeps coming back. She still maintains a healthy weight and appetite. I don't know if it is IBD or maybe allergies. I have ordered organic/natural food but won't receive it until Monday. I would like
to find something natural/herbal to treat her condition. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

" Dear Pet Owner---
Try canned pumpkin [not the pie mix version]. Give your cat about one half teaspoon at every meal of the pumpkin.

Holistic help for a torn ligament?
I took my dog to the vet because he injured his leg. My current vet recommended TTA based on an x-ray he took today. Can torn or ruptured ligaments be viewed on an xray? Also, what holistic
treatment would you recommend? This is a 2 year old black lab, he is limping but NO LONGER holding his leg off the ground since taking anti-inflammitory meds.
