14 year old cat with hyperthyroidism

Pet Owner Question: Our 14-yr old cat has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. We have tried him on medication but he has a severe reaction to it and is not able to keep any food down when taking it. He has now developed a large thyroid tumor and loss of appetite. The vet recommends a radioactive iodine treatment. We were wondering if there is a holistic treatment that would help this condition? 2 1/2 year old Labrador has a heartguard reaction

Pet Owner Question: "I rescued a golden about 1 1/2 ago he his about 2 1/2. He was abused as a pup and has had a number of bouts with diaherra. Had him tested and he tested positive to lamb, turkey, corn, soy, wheat and a number of grass.

Finally found a food he could and would eat Blue Buffalo. Recently he seemed to have a reaction to the heartguard. Vet is recommending Revolution however in reading the side effects I would be tackling all the bad symptoms again. What can you suggest. Any guidance would be helpful."

4 yr old female Lab, allergic and unhappy

Pet Owner Question: I have a great female lab mix. She is 4 years old, and the most fearful, anxious and unhappy friend I have ever had. She is allergic to environmental stuff and is on antigens and low dose steroids. I recently saw on TV that she can have acupuncture treatment for some of these problems. Can you help us?? Labs done last week are all normal except for a very slightly elevated Alk. Phos.

2 year old cocker spaniel with skin problems

Pet Owner Question: I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD COCKER SPANIEL WHO HAS SKIN PROBLEMS. HE IS ON PREDNISONE AND OMEGA 3 SUPPLEMENTS. HE HAS GAINED 15 LBS SINCE STARTING ON PREDNISONE.

I HAVE HIM ON DIET FOOD 2 CUPS A DAY, HAVE TRIED TO WEAN THE PREDNISONE AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS RASH APPEARS.

QUESTION IS IS THERE ANYTHING HOLISTIC TO TRY INSTEAD OF THE PREDNISONE THAT WOULD HELP HIM WITH HIS SKIN AND NOT CAUSE HIM TO BE OVERWEIGHT?
